Guidelines for Completing a Statistics Project
Guidelines for Completing a Statistics ProjectThe statistics project is the core of all course projects and it is important that you learn the methods and techniques required to ensure successful completion of your course. You can use statistics project in two different ways. Firstly, you can use it as a supplementary course to your current or forthcoming degree and this will help you to graduate with an MS in Statistics. The second way is to use it as an additional course to an existing course you are currently completing. This way will enable you to incorporate some of the techniques from your current course in order to be better prepared for your Statistics course. For example, you may have learned some statistical principles but if your existing course has not yet included a deeper analysis of those principles then you may find it difficult to follow the course without a supplementary course to accompany it.Ideally, your project should help you to learn about statistical topics th at may not have been covered during your previous course. The method used for your course project should reflect the way you learn best. It should also reflect the way you think about statistics. You will be doing the entire course project on your own so if you cannot learn by yourself, then you should not use a project as a means of learning. You should keep in mind that many topics which are discussed in a Statistical Project include Statistical Concepts. It is therefore important that you work on the statistical concepts before moving on to the more difficult and advanced topics. The statistics project must be relatively short, as this will enable you to learn more quickly and also gain an understanding of Statistical Principles. It is important that you have at least one statistical analysis task completed and a regression analysis task completed. To get the most out of your project, ensure that you use an event-response technique.A regression analysis technique enables you to com pare two event variables (time-series and others) with a response variable (a control). If you have all the necessary data in Excel, this is certainly the best tool for you to use. If you do not have Excel then a sample size calculator can help you determine how many events and/or response variables you will need in order to complete the project.Once you have all the necessary data in Excel, you should then perform an analysis to determine the sample size you will need. Although it is advisable to conduct an analysis using a function call, it is more practical to use the samples function in Excel. The sample size and the accuracy of the analysis are the two main criteria that you should look at in deciding on whether to use a function call or sample function. The function call will take more time than the sample calculation, but the higher accuracy means that the function call will give you a higher chance of accuracy.
